Hello, everyone! I have a new project to share with you today: the Speculation Postcard Club.
I created Speculation because I love print products, epistolary fiction, and getting weird things in the mail — which hopefully you do too. Speculation subscribers get tiny stories each month on postcards designed to look like artifacts from other worlds, heavily inspired by pulp speculative fiction and vintage design. There are also some fun extras and stretch goals like additional types of mailings (letters, flyers, maybe even in-universe magazines…) and special effects.
I’ve always loved making tangible goods, but as a novelist, there aren’t many opportunities to get hands-on and experimental with the printing process. This project is an excuse for me to go wild with it. Some of the stretch goals include things like printmaking classes so I can begin to learn every aspect of the printing process and create my own paper goods from scratch. It’s going to be scrappy and a lot of fun and I hope you’ll join me!
